People's Choice Award planning

So for this year's People's Choice Awards I'm planning to go retro.
For Christmas I recieved a Betsey Johnson pencil skirt that has a bit of a nautical theme, which was the inspiration for my style choice. Usually I dress very chic but definitely more modern for awards shows. But since the requirement is to be upscale and classy, I'm going with retro.

Hair: Marilyn Monroe hair curls
Eyes: Subtle, golds and champagne color with the classic liquid liner effect
Nails: French manicure

But I'm still not quite sure what exactly I'm wearing with my pencil skirt, or what my date is wearing (that'll be interesting) . Any ideas?

2010 New Year's Resolution

My goal for 2010 is to be less lazy in the fashion and beauty department. Even though I've always liked fashion I've never really been too involved with it. Recently I've become more in tune with my inner fashionista and I've never felt better.

Therefore my New Year's resolution is to always look and feel amazing and be open to trying new things that I usually wouldn't try.

My Top 3 Inspirations:

- Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis
In fourth grade my mother hired a dress maker to make me a replica of Jackie's pink Chanel dress she wore the day of JFK's assassination. I've always loved her style and grace, she always looked stunning even when wearing jeans.

- Marilyn Monroe
Seriously, she's on everyone's inspiration list. She's just gorgeous and a classic.

- Scarlett O' Hara
Now not the hoop skirts, but just her. The way she uses curtains to make a new dress, her strength, her attitude and just everything about her is simply amazing.
